Step 1
Cut the plastic protective layer off and roll out your turf. We recommend using a power broom or push broom to lay it out and let it sit for 2 hours prior to install. This will allow your new turf time to relax and flatten out.

Step 2
Prepping the area. Grade the ground and clean the turf installation area. Make sure the turf install area is free of any rocks and debris. The better you prep the area, the better your installation will turn out.

Step 3
Spread out your decomposed granite base. Using a Plate Compactor, compact the base to get it as hard as possible to fill in low and uneven areas for a perfectly flat turf install. If highs and lows remain, bring in more base and compact some more. This process may have to be repeated in order to get your ground as flat and smooth as possible. Its important to get the ground perfectly flat so your turf looks perfect.

Step 5
Once the turf is down, it’s time to spread our sand. We recommend using a standard seed spreader like a Scott’s Seed Rolling Spreader for easy, uniformed spreading. Once you’re done spreading your sand, you will have an immaculate finish.

Step 4
Lay out the turf. Cut any excess turf to fit your area and seam the edges to complete your installation. On large turf projects you may have one or more seam. Seams are one of the most important steps of your turf installation project. To seam turf, line up your turf, place the seam tape underneath and using a Cool Seam Machine, seam the edges together. Be sure you use nails every 4 inches along the seem line to secure the seam area.
